TMTD is used as a vulcanization accelerator in the rubber industry, used in NR and SR. Mainly used in the manufacture of tires, rubber shoes, cable etc. Used as germicide and insecticide in agriculture, also as lubricant additive.
A slight odour,nonpoisonous.Soluble in benzne, methylbenzene, chloroform, carbon disulfide, carbon tetrarchloride, methylene chloride, acetone and ethyl aceate; not easily soluble in ethyl alcohol; insoluble in water, dilute acid, dilute alkali and gasoline.
Slightly foul odour and bitter taste,nonpoisonous.Easily soluble in ethyl acetone,acetone,dilute solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate,soluble in ethyl alcohol,not easily soluble in benzene,insoluble in water and gasoline.
